The Artifacts Bank

Description: Operated by the not-for-profit Centre Park Historic District in Reading, PA. The Artifacts Bank was created for the purpose of adaptable re-use of architectural building materials. Items donated to the Artifacts Bank from building demolition, rehab or restoration projects are sold to homeowners of older properties at a nominal charge. Proceeds benefit the Centre Park Historic District.

If it comes from an older building, it probably has been or will be in our inventory. Our stock constantly changes with items in a variety of architectural styles. Items that may be found in our inventory are (but are not limited to): Doors, door knobs, mantels, stained glass, hardware, bathroom fixtures, lighting, fencing, furniture, stairways, newel posts, transoms, moulding, pourch posts, spindles, columns, brackets, corbels, finials, bathrubs and even the kitchen sink!

How to donate to the bank... Building materials or fixtures that are no longer of use to their owner but are still in re-usable condition may be donated. All salvage donated can be used as a tax deduction since the Artifacts Bank is a non-profit organization. For tax purposes, a letter of donation on our letterhead is given for each item donated. To arrange for pick-up or site disassembly, please call for an appointment 610-375-7860.
